Buying Beats- Tips, Links, And More

Buy Beats To Record To

When you are looking to buy beats online first you need to know what kind of beats you want or the beat you want to go with a song you have previously wrote whether its a hip hop beat, rap beat, dirty south beat, or r&b beat. Just for the record, hip hop beats are not the same as rap beats. Hip hop beats are done with 4/4 times or 4 beats per measure/bar and rap beats have other time signatures. Though whatever kind of beat you are looking for you going to have to do some serious searching since many artist do not get to have custom beats made for them like back in the day when you could have one producer make all your beats.

When searching for beats, be very cautious! Do not be so hasty to buy beats online from producers that has no credibility. Producers or should I say BEAT MAKERS that are unknown have not had enough beat making experience to sell beats online. Creating beats is an art and talent, takes alot of time and you have to know what you are doing to make a real catchy melody that will make a song hot and if a person has not had enough practice with that then you do not want them setting your talents back by putting some good lyrics on a wack beat.

Buying Beats Online

So you are stuck not having a music producer to make your beats and you have been forced to come and search for beats online. Well this is a very good thing because you can have a wide range of beats online of different genres. There are literally thousands and thousands of beats uploaded every day so this is perfect for you music artist that are constantly looking to buy beats to complete your album or mixtape. The one problem is you have to go through alot of wack sites with wack beats to get to them and there are more than enough sites that offer beats that are not even close to decent. Some beats just be plain out trash and you can tell they have been made on cheap or free equipment. Then there is also scam sites that over charge for beats. So if a site does not offer good quality beats and/or the prices are to high then stay away from it!

Quick View of Beat License and Prices

Online beats are sold with Non-Exclusive and Exclusive rights. Depending on the producer's contract Non-Exclusive rights for a beat usually means the artist has limited rights for the beat and the producer still has all rights to the beat. In details the artist gets a limited number of distribution rights, its strictly for mixtape use and not album use, also the producer still has the right to sell the beat as many times as he or she wishes. Basically non-exclusive beats in other words are just leased or borrowed from the producer. Exclusive beats on the other hand gives the artist all the rights to the beat. The artist has unlimited distribution rights and the producer can not resell the beat again but credit still must be given to the producer. Each and every producers has their own contract for how they want to handle license so whenever shopping for beats make sure to consult this with the producer you decide to deal with.

Prices for beats usually very. Non-exclusive beats are usually much cheaper than exclusive beats. The prices usually run from $10-$50. I though recommend that you do not pay anything over $30 for a non-exclusive beat. Now for Exclusive beats thats a different story. Exclusve beats usually start around $50 and just goes up from there even so far as the $1000s but its always well worth it if you know the song is going to bring you good money in return and you don't want everyone having the same beat as you. Most music producers online are quicker to lease you a beat than to sell you one. Usually when buying exclusive rights to a beat it is required that you contact the producer.

This article should be all you need to get you started on buying beats. You now know what to look for, what not to look for, what to stay away from, the license, and the prices. Music Producer Talks About Making Beats

On my website www.hotbeatsbylavish.blogspot.com I talk about what all does it take to become a music producer and what the true definition of a hot beat is. I have been making beats for about 4 years now and I have specialized in a wide range of genres. My main focus has been hip hop beats and dirty south beats but i also specialize in a wide range of genres such as r&b beats, east coast beats, west coast beats, club beats, and more. I try to be as universal as i can be to satisfy all of my artist needs for beats or instrumentals and i can get a good number of artist to vouch for me.

When I get started on making beats, it always depends on what I'm aiming for. I usually start my beats with the chords and build my melodies off that. Good nice chords always set the moods in the beats especially when it comes to r&b beats. Sometimes when I make a dirty south beat i may start with the drums and get a hard hitting kick and sharp snare rhythm going. Gotta make sure i have that bass just right for them dirty south beats. I also really like trickin up my high hats and snare rolls.

All in all while i make beats and no matter what kind of beat it is I take my time with it and do it right. I don't make beats just to make money but i do it cause its a passion and i have fun making them and expressing my creativity. Its like getting away from this world and creating my own. Then after spending hours and hours working on a beat i like to share my world/creation with a talented artist and put the artist ideas mixed with my beats then create what we call a song. Making good music is what my main objective is and alot of hard work is done doing it (at least with me it is). I am not one of your quick 5 min beat makers but a real music producer that takes alot of pride in my work and I'm always looking for artist that does the same. Anyway I am going to wrap this up and I will post some videos of me making beats real soon. Until then check out my work at http://www.rocbattle.com/lavish
